Sweat Yourself Silly!

As KRS10, I teach live and online dance classes that give you permission to express yourself through state-of-the-art and age-old exercise. Dancing with both freedom and structure, you’ll build mental, emotional, and physical health and resilience while losing yourself in music!

Fun First, Fitness Follows.

My dance students have treated and healed from conditions from depression to neuropathy to ADHD, losing weight and building strength and confidence through a practice of happiness. My teaching style is Zumba-based so it’s easy to follow, even though it challenges your mind. I’ve been a licensed ZIN since 2011 and enjoy nothing more than a room full of kids, teens, adults, or seniors who are ready to party!

We Even Do The Snoopy Dance!

What’s the “Literary Twist?” I teach dance because it gets me out from behind my computer!  I’m a writer, so I can’t help but share interesting, weird things about the songs I teach and the moves I use. I often engage with current events with my playlist, so we get a chance to work out our feelings as well. I’m also a certified Positive Psychology practitioner, so I’m an expert at expanding positive emotion.

So what’s with the name?

An excerpt from Jitterbug Perfume by Tom Robbins:

Philosophers have argued for centuries about how many angels can dance on the head of a pin, but materialists have known all along that it depends on whether they are jitterbugging or dancing cheek to cheek.

The program focused on a new dance craze that was sweeping Argentina. “They call it the Bandaloop,” said the announcer,  “and everyone is doing it.”
On the screen, the dancers were skipping and bounding about the floor in a kind of exaggerated polka. Every once in a while, they would stop, execute a little backward and forward jitterbug step, then, yelling “Bandaloop!” they would jump straight in the air, up and down, five times.
“But the bandaloop is more than just another dance fad,” the announcer said. “It’s a health fad, as well. Supposedly, it can add years, even decades, to your life.”
The camera panned to dancers in a Buenos Aires night spot, then back to a close-up of Effecto, who, Priscilla perceived, was looking youthful and fit, indeed. “These dance she make zee blood happy, zee bones happy. I don’t know how explain eet, but theese dance she celebrate that we are not, you know, died already.”
—from Jitterbug Perfume by Tom Robbins
